Liam is 11 years old!
When Liam was born, he surprised us with a diagnosis of Down syndrome—and from that very first day, he’s been showing us just how strong and amazing he truly is. He was born with congenital cataracts, which meant his lenses had to be removed early on. With the help of his glasses, he navigates the world beautifully until he’s able to get new lenses in the future. At three years old, he underwent surgery to repair a hole in his heart, and he’s been thriving ever since.
Liam has brought an incredible amount of joy into our lives. He’s taught us the true meaning of patience, unconditional love, and finding happiness in the little things.
He’s now a 5th grader at Highland Elementary, where he loves going to school, spending time with his friends and teacher, and learning to read, write, and do math. Of course, his favorite parts of the day are lunch and recess—especially playing basketball with his best friend. Outside of school, Liam loves bike rides and playing Mario Kart. If you want to be his best buddy, just sit down and race a few rounds with him—he’ll be your biggest fan in no time.
We’re also incredibly grateful for the United Angels Foundation. They’ve walked alongside our family from the very beginning, offering support, encouragement, and a true sense of community. Some of our closest friends have come through connections made there, and we’ve cherished the activities they organize—giving us a chance to spend meaningful time together as a family. Their support has meant the world to us.
